The roster is set, but little else is written in concrete as Navarre split its preseason baseball games last week.
Navarre fell 7-5 to Gulf Breeze last Thursday but rebounded with a 10-3 thumping of Milton the next night.
First-year head coach Chris Williams put the entire roster through an in-game preview over the course of those two games. Each contest had one remarkable inning.
Against Gulf Breeze, it was ugly. The Raiders committed six errors in the third inning, allowing the Dolphins to hang five runs on the board, which led to the victory.
“That’s some young guys with inexperience, nerves going on, some uncharacteristic errors. We’ll clean that up,” Williams said. “I didn’t think the nerves would be as bad as they were. We had … six straight strikeouts in the first two innings. So, that’s a little uncharacteristic with the hitters we have.”
