A Navarre man was arrested Aug. 6 for allegedly sexually assaulting a 6-year-old on three separate occasions according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
John Benjamin Carper, 36, faces three counts of capital felony sexual assault of a minor under 12 years old.
According to a sheriff’s office arrest report, the incidents occurred between November 2011 and March 2012 while Carper and the victim were living in the same residence.
In a recorded interview with the victim, the victim, who was 6 at the time of the incidents, told officers that Carper sexually assaulted her on three separate occasions at his residence in Navarre.
The victim was interviewed about the incidents by an investigator July 31, 2018.
Deputies conducted an interview with Carper after he signed a Miranda Rights form according to the report. The content of that interview has been redacted from the report.
Carper is currently being held in Santa Rosa County Jail on $900,000 bond.
