New commander for AFSOC

heitholdThe Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) at Hurlburt Field is getting a new leader. An AFSOC Public Affairs Spokesman March 19 said Lt. Gen. Bradley Heithold has been confirmed and will become the new AFSOC commander. He had been nominated for the position by Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel.

Lt. General Heithold since July 2011 has served as Vice Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command in Washington D.C.

He will replace Lt. Gen. Eric Fiel, who became AFSOC Commander June 2011.
