Family members anxiously watched the skies and listened March 24 and in an instant the Navy’s Blue Angels made a pass over the runway at NAS Pensacola. The team had spent the last eight weeks training at Naval Air Facility El Centro, Calif. and was now back home.
During its west coast trip, the Blue Angels had trained, completed a fly-over at NASCAR’s Auto Club 400 in Fontana, Calif. and performed in two shows, the same number of shows the team completed last year before being grounded by federal budget cuts.
“Every season is special for everyone but this one will be a lot more special,” said Cpt. Brandon Cordill.
