One airman died from injuries sustained in an accident on Eglin Range during military free-fall training, Aug. 3, according to a release from Air Force Special Operations Command.
Another airman was injured in the same accident and remains in critical condition. Both airmen from Air Force Special Operations Command were rushed to local hospitals.
The cause of the incident is not known, and it is still under investigation.
The airman’s name will not be released until 24 hours after notification of next of kin.
