Drugs may have been involved in an attempted homicide and burglary incident in Milton according a Santa Rosa County arrest report.
Suspect Kristopher Telacy Brown, 20, of Pensacola was arrested Dec. 11 for allegedly shooting a man in the head with a sawed-off shotgun.
Deputies arrived at 6461 Sunny Acres Court in Milton about 9 p.m. July 19 after being advised that an adult male at the residence had been shot, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
When deputies arrived, they found a responsive and alert male victim with an apparent gunshot injury to the left side of his head according to arrest reports. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of shotgun wounds.
According to the arrest report, two men forced their way into the Sunny Acres residence, and one aimed the shotgun at the victim’s head. In an interview with deputies, the victim said he attempted to push the gun away from his face when it went off.
Other witnesses advised they saw the two suspects leaving the scene with a Michael Kors purse that belonged to one of the witnesses. One witness said they believed the purse contained weed and referred to the robbery as a “dope hit.” All the witnesses denied that any drug dealing was occurring at the residence according to the arrest report.
A witness was able to identify Brown from her Facebook friends list. The shooting victim also identified Brown from a photo lineup.
Brown is charged with first degree felony attempted homicide, third degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, third degree felony
Bond for Brown has been set at $520,000. He is currently being held in Santa Rosa County Jail.
