Middle schoolers share acts of kindness

Holley Navarre Middle School Student Council participated in a special portion of Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3, through #givingtuesdaymilitary. Launched by a group of military spouses, this national movement is aimed at uniting military, their families, veterans and other supporters to generate 1 million acts of kindness in one day. It is part of the larger Giving Tuesday movement to make the Tuesday after Thanksgiving a massive day of giving.

The Student Council students banded together to hand out 1,000 cards with encouraging messages to “friends, peers they may not know and someone who could just use a smile” said Student Council adviser Kelli Longo.

“One student described the movement at its best, ‘what a great way to start your day. This is so cool!’” she said.
