Officially opening to the public June 11, The Vine Wine Bar has added a couple words to their name, along with a couple of new owners, David and Erin Crumbley. Now called, The Vine Wine Bar, Bistro & Shoppe, this Navarre staple is back and ready to serve in Navarre with delicious wine, craft beer and a diverse menu of savory food.
The Crumbleys said the previous owners, who actually had their second date and eventually got married at the Vine, have been very helpful with the transition.
“Dave and Melissa have been fantastic as far as helping us get the place set up. They even helped us train the staff the first day,” David said.
The Crumbleys are trying to focus a little more on expanding the food portion of the menu. “We’re experimenting with different specials each week,” David said. “We’ve done a panini special, we’ve done a Korean pork special, and fondue. So, we’re throwing stuff out there to see what hits and we’re going to take the best of what the specials are and add them permanently to the menu.”
They carried over a lot of the items from the old menu, such as the flatbreads, salads, crab cakes and even the beef Wellington Bites, which are miniature beef tenderloins wrapped in golden puff pastry, served with a side of housemade horseradish sauce.
One of their bestselling menu items is the Grand Adventure charcuterie board which features five specialty cheeses, four premium meats, fresh seasonal fruits, gourmet olives, cornichons and mixed nuts.
The Crumbleys plan to add even more protein to the menu to attract men to their bistro, which is now serving a predominantly female demographic.
“We want the men to come in here too,” Erin said. “We want this not to be just a place where people come in before date night and have a glass of wine, then go somewhere else. We want people to come in here and eat dinner.”
The weekly wine flights at Vine are designed to give people an opportunity to try various wines from all over the world without having to commit to a full glass or the entire bottle.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 The Vine has been operating at 50% CAPACITY.
“We bought it at a very difficult time, and we are being very cautious of following the guidelines of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation,” Erin said.
For the safety of patrons and staff, masks are worn when serving. In addition, the temperatures of all staff members are checked before working and the tables are more than 6 feet apart and sanitized thoroughly after each use.
“We’re being very vigilant about keeping everyone safe. It’s important.” Erin said.
They have also expanded to-go order services. You can simply order and pay online and even request curb service.
Need a place to relax after work and enjoy an affordable glass of wine or craft beer? Come to The Vine Wine Bar for Happy Hour every weekday from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.!
Happy Hour consists of the “3-2-1 Special,” which stands for $3 off flights, $2 off glasses of wine and $1 off beer.
They have over 180 different bottles of wine and more than 20 bottles of local and boutique craft beers. Drink it at the restaurant or buy it to take home.
As the weather gets cooler outside and the virus hopefully subsides, the Crumbleys have huge plans for the future of Vine.
“We’re looking at expanding the outdoor seating and we plan to have relaxing live acoustic music inside,” David said.
The ambitious new owners even plan to eventually host murder mystery parties, brunches and fundraisers for great causes in the future.
Come on by for a delightful glass of your favorite wine served in the newly renovated and relaxing atmosphere that is The Vine.
