Emily Madril said she felt “on top of the world” when she scored a goal September 17 to put the Florida State women’s soccer team ahead 2-0 in its season-opening win over Notre Dame.
The Navarre alum had not played in a game for the nationally ranked Seminoles since 2017. Multiple ACL tears that kept her out of action during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Despite the long layoff, nerves didn’t affect Madril in her return.
“Normally I have a lot of nerves leading up to a game, but I was actually more relaxed than I have ever been and I was just excited to get back on the field.”
