The Pensacola Blue Wahoos wrapped up their eighth season in franchise history Sept. 8. It was their first as the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, losing a decisive fifth game to the Biloxi Shuckers.
Pensacola won 76 games and lost 63. The record was the third best in the league, good enough to earn the team a wild card spot in the postseason. The Blue Wahoos were one of three teams to have a winning record in the league this season.
Below is a look at the season and some noteworthy items from it.
Hot start: Pensacola started the season on a mission, winning its first eight series. It had never been done before in franchise history. The streak ended in a series against Mobile in mid-May, with Pensacola dropping three games to the BayBears.
