Brien Carter’s dad points to a photo on the wall of their Navarre home. It’s a picture of Brien decked out in wrestling gear, and a medal hangs over it. A photo of Brien wearing his football uniform is next to it.

Brien is 8 years old.
He has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He was diagnosed in August, three months after his family moved here from Pittsburgh.
