Wildlife initiative takes aim at minimizing impact of development in Florida

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is in a race against time, trying to get ahead of the game in preserving land, wildlife and water for future generations.

Hunting is one of the focal points of The Wildlife 2060 Initiative because of the land that could be lost for hunting purposes over the next 40 years.

Initially launched as the Wildlife 2060 Initiative — it’s now been switched to 2070 due to projection changes – a game plan has been laid out to deal with population growth and the continued development of land.
