The Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge has an unusual guest in its care: a red-footed booby.
Unlike the refuge’s usual residents, this strangely named bird is by no means native to the area. As the name suggests, these birds have scarlet feet similar to those of a duck, long white wings and a bright blue beak used for gobbling up saltwater fish.
