Understanding the benefits of Medicare can be a complicated for some and that’s where the Florida SHINE program comes into play.
For more than two decades, SHINE, which stands for Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders, has provided information, counseling and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries and their families on Medicare and other questions they may have in regards to health insurance.
Created in 1992, SHINE is a product of the State Health Insurance Assistance Program that was created in 1990 and is administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
