Monday marked the start of a special time on Navarre Beach. Sea turtle nesting season has begun and will continue through October.
There are four species of endangered and threatened sea turtles that come to Navarre Beach to lay their eggs. Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center Director Cathy Holmes said this is an exciting time, but also a very dangerous time for the turtles.
