Some Holley area residents are frustrated with what they call a heavy Florida Highway Patrol presence along a four-lane stretch of Highway 87 South through the heart of the community.
“It’s a speed trap,” said Allan Tucker, who works at a business on the highway. “People are fed up about it but scared to talk.”
Holley resident Kammie Ice agreed. She and her family live just feet from the highway, and she said the hours troopers spend clocking vehicles along the corridor is “ridiculous.”
Ice said she observes FHP cruisers in the vicinity on an almost daily basis, especially in the parking lot of Billory Baptist Church.
