Q&A Meet the candidates for Attorney General

What motivated you to run, and what will your top priority be? Please include any relevant experience in your response.

“I was motivated to run because of the issues that I saw as a judge and prosecutor and how, as Attorney General, I could help solve them. Florida needs a “top cop” that will stand strong with law enforcement. Florida needs a “top prosecutor” with the necessary experience to tackle the opioid crisis, the rising abuse of our elderly, and the plague of human trafficking. With the full backing of Pam Bondi, law enforcement organizations, and 90% of Republican Sheriffs, I am committed to enforcing the rule of law and defending our constitution for a stronger, safer Florida.”

Ashley Moody

“I’m a consumer lawyer, and what I kept seeing over and over again were cases in my private practice that should be handled by the State Attorney General, but Ms. Bondi was never there!”

I’m running for Attorney General because ever since I was child, I have believed this is the best job in Florida. Nowhere else do you have the opportunity to directly affect the lives of our fellow citizens in the way the Attorney General has and it is time to return that focus to the people of our state, not the powerful.
Priorities: Advocating for common sense gun safety laws like universal background check and banning assault weapons.

Holding the pharmaceutical industry accountable for their role in the opioid crisis.

Keeping Floridians safe by cracking down on scammers and predators seeking to hurt our children and elderly population.

Sean Shaw

Siskind was motivated to run by number of gun violence incidents, culminating in the massacre at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Boca Raton. Siskind designed a solution which combines support of the Second Amendment with emphasis on the need to regulate the manner in which Floridians may acquire and keep semi-automatic weapons, requiring that they be kept only in secure facilities licensed and regulated by a Commission charged with protecting our citizens while supporting Florida’s commitment to the text and spirit of the Second Amendment.  The ‘Gun Compact’ creates Gun Clubs where firearms enthusiasts can continue to engage in gun ownership without placing the public at unnecessary risk, and in accordance with which violators will be more rigorously prosecuted.

Jeffrey Marc Siskind

After multiple attempts to contact candidate White by phone and email, the Navarre Press was unable to obtain the answers to these questions. White will appear on the Republican primary ballot Aug. 28.
