Santa Rosa County announced May 8 that Property Appraiser Greg Brown’s estimate for residential and commercial property damaged by floodwaters now stands at $9.87 million, up nearly $2 million from his May 6 estimate.
Brown noted the estimates do not include cars or personal belongings. “A residence might have water in its yard, so it was impacted, but that is not included in the damage estimate,” he told Navarre Press.
Brown has an informal agreement with the county to conduct the damage assessments. Read more in the May 8 issue of Navarre Press or subscribe online here.
