The grocery store planned to be constructed on Navarre Parkway across from Joybrook Road will be a Walmart Neighborhood Market according to building plans submitted for the project in September to the Santa Rosa County Development Services office.
Jason McLarty with Development Services said there has not been an official start date set for construction as his office still awaits submittal of updated construction plans based on the offices feedback. Then the permitting process would begin.
The store will feature a gas station and groceries, but will not include the miscellaneous shopping items found in full-size Walmarts.
Previously referred to as “Navarre Grocery,” the store will be the second Walmart location in Navarre with another store located 5.4 miles down Navarre Parkway.
