Hundreds of Navarre residents turned out to participate in the Veteran’s Day ceremony held at Navarre Park Nov. 11. Those present spanned all ages and generations from the formation of Boy Scouts to the World War II veteran in attendance.
Commissioner Jim Melvin delivered the County of Santa Rosa proclamation.
“The board encourages all citizens to honor those who have served and who continue to serve their country to preserve the principles of justice, freedom and democracy by participating in ceremonies honoring our veterans,” read the proclamation.
More than a dozen local veterans’ associations and organizations brought forward wreaths to place near the flagpole.
