In the Bible, Jesus told a parable of the Good Samaritan. The story goes that a man who was traveling to Jericho was attacked by robbers and left to die by the side of the road. Two people saw him there and passed by without doing anything to help.
But a third man, the Samaritan, stopped to help him. He tended the stranger’s wounds, took him to shelter and paid for his care.
The Good Samaritan Clinic in Gulf Breeze is named for this selfless act and, like the Good Samaritan from the Bible, the clinic offers medical care for those in need free of charge.
