Privacy fences are designed for exactly that, privacy, and Santa Rosa County says 6 feet is privacy enough. In fact, county ordinance limits all residential fences to 6 feet or lower with possible penalty of citation and required removal of the fence for even an inch higher.
But when property is built on a hill, a 6-foot fence at the bottom of the incline might not cut it.
Especially if you are a nudist.
For Milton resident Steven Rollo that was the exact problem he faced. Rollo owns a home along the riverfront in Milton where he likes to enjoy his unique lifestyle in his backyard.
“My house is so much higher,” he said.
So he began construction of an 8-foot fence, 6 feet of privacy slats with a 2-foot lifted space on the bottom for animals and possible floodwaters to pass under he explained.
