In the 1990s the University of West Florida unearthed structures dating back to the very beginning of North Santa Rosa County industry, the Arcadia Mill.
Among these historic monuments of yesteryear, the archaeologist uncovered something strange. Left to rot by the residents of the area, the charred remains of the once massive textile mill, Arcadia Manufacturing Company still jutted from the ground and visitors to the historic site can view the area where it once stood.
