In September, the Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners approved roughly $80,000-$150,000 to pay consulting firm Matrix Design Group to create a District 4 Master Plan for the Navarre, Holley and Navarre Beach area. As development of that plan gets underway, the Navarre Press is taking a look at planning the future of Navarre.
In eight short months, District 4 will have a master plan.
Under the contract between Santa Rosa County and consulting firm Matrix Design Group, the Board of County Commissioners will be presented with recommendations for directing future growth by as early as June 11.
Master plans are created with a number of goals including managing growth, improving quality of life, bringing vibrancy to an area and balancing the needs of stakeholders. Cynthia Cannon, project lead and senior urban planner, said master plans map the future.
“A master plan presents guidelines and strategies to manage and address the impacts of growth on a community and serves as a tool to implement the vision of the community,” she said.
