Rob Wrobel of Destin loves music. For years he played the guitar, but when a motocross accident injured his neck in his late 40s, he lost a lot of motor skills in his hands.
Playing the guitar became next to impossible.
Flash forward to age 55, a friend introduced Wrobel to a kind of guitar he’s never seen before. It was a narrow, flat square bodied guitar with a long neck and only a few strings. It was made from a recycled cigar box, and it could be played using only one finger.
It was a cigar box guitar (CBG).
Interested, Wrobel took a go at creating his own CBG and with a little practice he began selling them through his shop Rob’s Cigar Box Guitars.
