In a little known park at the end of Blue Tip Drive in Navarre, Santa Rosa County will be installing a new kayak launch. The request for the addition came from James Broxson, owner of Broxson Outdoors located at the corner of Blue Tip Drive and Navarre Parkway and District 4 County Commissioner Rob Williamson.
Public Works Director for the county, Stephen Furman said, “If the weather is cooperative, the launch will be installed in the next couple or three weeks. It will be a nice amenity to that park.”
Furman said they visited a similar launch installed by the Northwest Florida Water Management District and came up with a similar design, obtained all of the necessary permitting, and received approval to begin the job.
The cost of the launch is less than $1,000 and will be paid for out of District 4 recreational funds.
