Hotel Equities steps in to help Weekend Food Program

Hotel Equities’ Revenue Manager Mike Lorea didn’t hesitate to jump into action when he was approached about helping out with the Weekend Food Program in South Santa Rosa County.

At the Springhill Suites on Pensacola Beach Tuesday afternoon, he and members of his staff  were on hand participating in a regional training conference and they  helped bag more than 500 hygiene bags that will be donated to children in need in Gulf Breeze and Navarre.

“We do projects at every meet and when Michelle (Abrams) called us about helping out in some way, we thought it would work out perfect. We were able to supply the manpower for it.”

A first-floor conference room at the hotel was bustling with people walking through a line filling plastic bags with toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental floss, all of the items donated by local dentists in the area. Other hygienic supplies, purchased thanks to a grant from the Rotary Club of Navarre, were also included in the kits.
