In nearly two decades since the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission began its Chronic Wasting Disease surveillance in the state, more than 13,000 deer—including animals killed by a hunter or vehicle, as well as those that died from an illness– have been tested for CWD.
The results have come back negative every time.
