The Letter of James says, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
Most Christians would at least acknowledge that keeping oneself unstained from the world is something they ought to do, but would we acknowledge the “ought to” in visiting orphans and widows in their affliction?
