Beverly Dubay started working with at-risk children in school six years ago.
She spends about 20 hours a week at Pea Ridge Elementary in Pace as a foster grandparent, one of many who perform that duty in Escambia and Santa Rosa County schools each week.
“I enjoy what I do,” Dubay said. “I love the (students) with all my heart.”
A retired invoice auditor, Dubay helps students with reading and math or anything else they need help with that is school related.
