A Navarre Girl Scout troop leader charged with grand theft and fraud is scheduled to appear in court April 17 for a criminal arraignment. Circuit Court Judge John F. Miller, Jr., will preside over the hearing for 39-year-old Sherrie Meier of Navarre.
According to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Meier was arrested March 25 for grand theft and fraud after allegedly failing to account for almost $3,000 from the troop’s cookie sales.
On Sept. 18, 2013, Elizabeth Harrison, director for the Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle, filed a fraud complaint with the Pensacola Police Department indicating that 39-year-old Sherrie Meier obtained and sold cookies but did not provide the proceeds totaling $2,989.30 to the council.
