The short list of candidates for the Tourism Development (TDC) marketing and advertising contract was selected Friday, Aug. 12, and incumbent Mobile. Ala.-based Davis South Barnett and Patrick Public Relations and Advertising (DSBP) topped the list.
Orlando-based Evok Advertising followed behind, and Paradise Advertising of Orlando rounded out the final three plucked from the 10 initial applicants by a grading committee Santa Rosa County Procurements Officer David King said.
“The grading committee determines the top three that they’d like to see considered,” King said. “Then they will arrange a visit to the three sites to make sure they represent what we want.”
Tourist Development Director Julie Morgan will make those visits.
After the visits the TDC board of directors will hear presentations from the three companies Sept. 1. Each company will have 15 minutes to woo the board with their plans for marketing the county’s tourist attractions and bringing in those much-needed bed-tax dollars.
To get this far, applicants faced stricter criteria than those in 2013. The criteria were set by Morgan.
