The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is hoping a new vehicle will show clearly the better choice between getting a taxi or driving impaired.
The new “Choose Your Ride” vehicle has its front painted like a taxi, while the back of the out-of-service Ford patrol car retained its sheriff’s office vehicle markings. The side windows read, “Ride in the front seat $24,” and “Ride in the back seat $10,000.00.”
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, the vehicle was created to draw attention to the fact that driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is a preventable crime.
