Miguel Robledo heard about life in the United States from friends while living in Mexico.
He made up his mind that he wanted the opportunity to experience life in America as well.
Twenty-five years ago, Robledo made the move, coming across the border into Texas.
“At the time, I had a lot of friends who went to the United States,” he said. “They would talk about the new life it presented and the opportunities people had here. It really made me think about coming here, too.”
Nearly 30 years after making the decision to leave Mexico, Robledo officially became a U.S. citizen.
