New fitness trends keep Navarre moving

Navarre’s beaches, long summer season, numerous outdoor activities and military population contribute to the community’s overall fitness.

“We are an active community. We live in a great place to do that. The beach is helpful with that, people like to be outside,” said Kristen Shuping, who teaches classes and is a personal trainer at the Betty J. Pullum Family YMCA in Navarre. She says HIIT (high intensity interval training), CrossFit and Paddleboard Yoga are some of the more popular new trends in the Navarre fitness community.
