Recently a Pensacola surgeon who grew up in Navarre traveled to Peru to perform reconstructive surgery as part of a mission trip with Love for Peru Foundation based in Gulf Breeze.
“I am tremendously grateful to the Love for Peru foundation for orchestrating the groundwork and logistics possible for me to provide my time and skills to the people of Peru,” Dr. Jacque LeBeau said.
During the trip, LeBeau performed surgeries such cleft palate repairs.
“Volunteering with this organization has been a humbling experience which has allowed me to further understand the daily struggles of the Peruvian people and how graciously they shoulder these hardships,” LeBeau said.
The Love for Peru Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Gulf Breeze. The objective of the group is to help break the cycle of poverty through education and other approaches while supporting health and nutrition and alleviating specific hardships on families in need.
