More than 400 pounds of fresh produce was delivered to a home in Holley by the Sea Friday, March 6. From there, about two dozen Navarre women filed in from every direction to grab Ikea bags filled with organically grown cabbage, artichokes, carrots, strawberries, mushrooms and more.
And thus the Navarre Buying Club was born. The club works through Global Organic Specialty Source to buy organic produce from local farmers, as well as from those in other countries. They buy the produce in bulk and then split it up upon delivery in order to make it affordable. Prices are comparable and even less than what is available locally.
