Financial estimates by the City of Gulf Breeze show that it could rehab Tiger Point Golf Club’s controversial west course, and also expand its existing wastewater treatment plant there for millions of dollars less than building a new sewage facility at the alternative Bergren Road site.
Yet Gulf Breeze Mayor Matt Dannheisser told the Navarre Press earlier this week that there’s more to the issue than how much money is spent. “There’s the philosophic question: if we’re in the business of simply providing utility service, should we be adding expenses that aren’t needed? The golf course is a quintessential example of that.”
