The Florida House Judiciary Committee voted 15-3 April 21 in support of a bill introduced by State Representative Matt Gaetz that would legalize strains of non-euphoric marijuana for the purpose of helping children with medical conditions that cause seizures.
The bill’s next stop is a vote before the full House of Representatives. “Can not wait for this great piece of legislation to hit the Floor of the House.” Gaetz posted on his Facebook page following the committee’s approval.
Gulf Breeze resident Holley Moseley has made numerous trips to Tallahassee in support of the measure, which she believes would greatly benefit her 11-year-old daughter RayAnn.
A companion bill, introduced Feb. 12, was approved April 22 by the Senate Appropriations Committee meeting and will now being considered by the full Senate. Senate President Don Gaetz announced earlier this year he would support the legislation if it reaches a vote on the Senate floor.
