What started as a small event to celebrate toll free calling has grown to be Navarre’s hallmark festival.
The 3oth Annual Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Fun Fest will be held on Navarre Beach, April 25 and 26. Event hours are 4:30 to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.
The event has changed through the years having first been held in Navarre but then making a move to Navarre Beach, its current location since 2007.
Chamber CEO Tony Alexander noted the 2014 edition of the event is the second to receive funding due to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. “I would say this is one of the biggest years for entertainment.”
In addition to music and fireworks, the event includes arts and crafts, food and commercial vendors and a children’s play area. The annual Fun Fest 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run will be held at 8 a.m., Saturday. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the event.
