8 injured in wreck after driver suffers seizure

Eight people were transported to Sacred Heart Hospital Saturday at around 12:30 p.m. after the driver of an SUV suffered a seizure while traveling south on State Road 87 in Milton.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver, Warren S. Floyd, 45, of Deridder, La., traveled onto the western grass shoulder and struck a large pine tree, causing the vehicle to overturn on its left side.

Floyd sustained serious injuries and was transported via Life Flight to Sacred Heart Hospital.

The seven passengers – Benjamin Floyd, 10; Tina Floyd, 35; Caymerin Floyd, 14; Ashlin Wood, 15; Edward Floyd, 8; Emma Floyd, 8; and Janet Wood, 40, all of Deridder  – were all transported to Sacred Heart with minor injuries.

The accident took place 3.5 miles south of Farrington Road.
