After the federal disaster declaration was made May 6, Santa Rosa County requested Disaster Recovery Centers be opened as quickly as possible, and the first one opened Saturday in the Gulf Breeze Community Center. During the first 30 minutes, only about two dozen residents had stopped by seeking assistance.
A second Disaster Recovery Center opened Sunday at the Pensacola State College Milton Campus.
FEMA spokesman William Lindsey said about 60 residents visited the Gulf Breeze location Monday and about 30 in Milton.
