The stigma attached to online dating is wearing off. Websites and apps including OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Match and eHarmony are changing the way we meet our significant others.
According to an October 2013 report by Pew Research Center’s Internet Project, one in 10 Americans have used an online dating site or mobile dating app themselves, and many people now know someone else who uses online dating or who has found a spouse or long-term partner via online dating. In addition, 5 percent of Americans who are currently married or in a long-term partnership met their partner somewhere online.
