Leadership Santa Rosa is a program of the Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce, launched in 1984 to prepare participants for leadership roles within our community. During the instruction year, participants explore issues, problems and opportunities facing Santa Rosa County and Northwest Florida.
During the course of the year, each class elects a legacy project which is directly tied to the specific class. This year, Class 29 has elected to commemorate the 11 servicemen killed in the Blackhawk crash in March 2015.
Leadership Santa Rosa Class 29 is seeking an artist or landscape architect to conceptualize and fabricate a site-integrated artistic monument in Navarre Park. The successful respondent will work with a Leadership Santa Rosa Class 29 committee to develop the memorial and landscape design within the safety guidelines and specifications of Navarre Park.
The goal of the project is to create a distinctive memorial which will pay respect to all military and to commemorate the fallen Blackhawk. The memorial will not only identify the Blackhawk by name, but must also express gratitude for service and remorse for fallen veterans by its design.
Leadership Santa Rosa Class 29 will receive conceptual design proposals and qualifications for the above referenced project at 5247 Stewart St., Milton, FL 32570, until Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 3 p.m. Proposals may be submitted via U.S. mail, in person to the Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce.
