Patrick Buttell, a native of Minneapolis, Minn., came into this world in 1942. Raised in his parents’ Midwestern home, Buttell had two older brothers and three sisters. Out of the six children in his family, Buttell was born the second youngest of the group.
“I believe I was on the spoiled end of the spectrum. My mother was getting really worn out by the time she got to raise my sister and me,” Buttell said. “My younger sister was really quiet, but the rest of us were rowdy, always cutting out, running our mouths, getting in trouble and whatnot.”
In reflecting on his home life, Buttell expressed a great amount of love and respect for his parents.
