Bid proposal slated for health department repairs

It’s been more than seven months since a state of emergency was declared in Santa Rosa County following floods that damaged homes and destroyed roads.

One such casualty included the Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County’s Midway facility, which took on an estimated 18 inches of water, causing officials to shut it down for repairs. Located on the north side of Highway 98, the building is the only county-owned facility that hasn’t been fixed since the floods.

DeVann Cook, the county’s director of risk management, said he received 11 bids last week and will propose the lowest bid to the Board of County Commissioners at its next meeting.
