The noise coming from Beach Colony Resort won’t be winding down any time soon, much to the dismay of nearby residents.
According to Tammy Pahal-Morgan, who heads the property’s management team, the construction work on the east tower won’t be completed until the end of February.
“During the April ice storm, the building was damaged because the structure was holding water and the outside surface had cracked cement,” Pahal-Morgan said.
The project, which began Aug. 4, includes resealing and repainting the entire building, and replacing all of the railings.
After the storm, the railings were holding water.
“They expanded and blew the joints out,” she said, adding that the project includes a roof repair and stucco repair.
“It’s a $1 million project, and yes, it’s noisy and we get a lot of complaints,” she said. “But this is the best time of year to do it. There’s nothing we can do about it.”
