Phase III of the Florida Artificial Reef Creation and Restoration project continues and bid solicitation has been finalized for a near-shore fishing and diving reef off Navarre Beach.
The project is funded by Natural Resource Damage Assessment money as a result of the BP oil spill in 2010. The total estimated cost of the project is nearly $11.5 million, which makes it one of the largest artificial reef construction efforts in the history of the artificial reef program in the state.
