Selena Bunch is accused of neglecting the 19-year-old Cerebral Palsy patient in her care for over a year according to a Santa Rosa County police report. She was arrested on Friday, May 27, and charged with second degree felony neglect of elderly or disabled adult with great harm. The female victim is bedridden, non-communicative and unable to perform daily living activities.
The Department of Children and Families (DCF) investigated the victim’s care after she was hospitalized with severe constipation, signs of malnutrition and multiple bed sore ulcers, including necrotic ulcers that exposed the bone.
According to the report, the victim had not been properly bathed for an extended period of time, and a DCF investigation of the victim’s residence showed proper care facilities were lacking or damaged. The report stated that the facilities were not neglected due to financial hardship.
Bunch was released Friday, May 27, on $100,000 bail.
