Local Kyla Brichetto, 16, is bumping elbows with the adult pros in a contest to recognize artistic skill.
The Navarre High student created the cover art for “Honey Ko,” a tale of love and loss by William C. Pennington. Since then, her artwork has found its way to the second spot in All Author’s monthly cover contest.
Featuring a Navarre Beach sunset photographed by Brichetto’s and her photoshop skills, the cover is set to win one of the coveted three top slots, meaning she would be featured on the All Author website. She beat out several more experienced designers to even make the voting and is leading dozens of others in the competition.
“I’ve always liked the diversity and creativity of art. Once you get this idea in your head, it is exciting to see how it comes to life,” Brichetto said.
She’s hoping to garner a few more votes before the contest closes at midnight May 31. Votes can be cast at AllAuthor.com. Registration is required.
